Whether your chapter is starting an archery program from scratch or expanding one you already run, the key to a successful program is having knowledgeable, certified instructors who can create a safe and fun environment.

To help you do that, the Izaak Walton League and Archery Trade Association (ATA) are co-hosting two new Archery Academies this spring:

April 27-28, 2019: Merrillville, IN
(hosted by the IWLA Indiana Division at the Glen Park Chapter)

May 4-5, 2019: Indianola, IA
(hosted by the IWLA Iowa Division at the Warren County Chapter)

These two-day training sessions will provide participants with Level 1 and Level 2 Archery Instructor certification (as recognized by USA Archery), so you don’t need to already be a certified instructor to attend!

Level 1 instruction includes range safety and setup, the basic steps of shooting, equipment and repair, and lesson plans to use with students at your own range. Level 2 instruction covers enhanced archery teaching techniques, and you will be qualified to train additional Level 1 instructors at  your own chapter and in the community. You’ll also receive introductory training on ATA’s Explore Bowhunting program!

Registration is limited, so reserve your spot today! Visit iwla.org/archery for more details and to download a registration form. Questions? Email archery@iwla.org.
