A key activity at the recent Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee meeting was the first in-person meetings of three new adaptive management teams: the Fish, Bird, and Human Considerations Teams. These teams are part of the Corps’ draft Science and Adaptive Management Plan and will be an important component of the new Missouri River Recovery Management Plan.
The three teams are each composed of federal agency staff, MRRIC members, and other appointed experts. The role of each team is to discuss implications of the science that will inform the Corps’ river management actions needed for species recovery. The League’s Regional Conservation Coordinator is a member of the Fish Team. The teams will continue to work on assigned tasks via conference calls in the coming weeks.
