From national monuments and urban getaways to the places where America was born, national parks protect our past and provide the historical context to help us find our best future. The commemorate the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service – and the people who maintain, preserve, and even personify our national parks – the League shared special stories in each issue of Outdoor America magazine in 2016. We also had the pleasure of interviewing Dayton Duncan, writer and co-producer of the documentary, The National Parks: America’s Best Idea. Duncan gave the League a fascinating look at the making of the film and his perspective on what makes the national parks our country’s “best idea.”
