The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed a sweeping rollback of Clean Water Act protections for streams and wetlands. This proposal would drastically change how our waterways are protected, threatening the drinking water sources for 1 in 3 Americans and putting up to 20 million acres of wetlands at risk of being drained or filled.
These changes would damage water quality, public health, hunting and fishing, and the outdoor recreation economy. Yet EPA has given the public just 60 days to comment on the proposal!
We only have until April 15 to urge EPA to adopt stronger protections for streams and wetlands. Please add your voice to this call for action. Our Action Alert makes it easy to customize and submit comments. Want more information about this issue? Check out our short video on the proposal.
