Love hunting, fishing, and shooting sports? We do too – and we're working hard to protect the natural resources that we count on for our outdoor sports.

Izaak Walton League members (who often refer to themselves as "Ikes") are working in Wisconsin to improve water quality in the Great Lakes, get kids and families outdoors, and conserve fish and wildlife and their habitat. Aldo Leopold was an early and lifetime member of the League, and he often relied on the League’s extensive network of local chapters as his eyes and ears on the ground in his conservation endeavors.

Conservation has long been the Wisconsin Ikes’ mission. They were one of the first organizations in the state to advocate for top soil protection, recycling, and bans on DDT use and the sale of phosphate detergents. Further successes include legislation creating statewide public hunting and fishing areas and laws protecting Wisconsin water resources, including Horicon Lake and its extensive adjoining marshlands and the Sheboygan, Namekagon, and Upper Mississippi Rivers.

Check out these Wisconsin chapters or visit our JOIN page for more information about becoming an Ike.
