John Sisser Joins IWLA as Conservation Associate

John Sisser

In February 2015, we welcomed John Sisser to the League as Conservation Associate for our Agriculture Program. In this role, Sisser will be responsible for engaging League members and the general public on our agriculture conservation priorities through targeted public education, media, and grassroots campaigns. He will also develop and conduct educational meetings on agricultural conservation issues in coordination with League members and coalition partners and allies and help develop and implement traditional and social media strategies. John will be based in the League’s Midwest office in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Sisser grew up trail running, hiking, and kayaking in northwest Ohio before moving to Minnesota in 2011. After earning his degree in Environmental Science, Policy and Management, Sisser interned for the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition in Washington, DC, where he wrote comments on federal rulemakings, worked on grassroots campaigns, and assisted in outreach efforts through blogs and e-mail newsletters. In his free time, Sisser is an avid distance runner, having completed marathons and half marathons. He is looking forward to applying his skills and experience to League issues and working with a great team of motivated conservationists.
