Congress to Begin Work on New Farm Bill

When Congress returns from recess after Labor Day, one item on the "to do" list is writing a new Farm Bill. The current five-year Farm Bill expires in September 2018, and House Agriculture Committee Chair Mike Conaway says his committee will start writing a new Farm Bill in the coming weeks.

The League will be pressing for stronger conservation provisions in the 2018 Farm Bill and more funding for conservation programs that help farmers and ranchers protect water quality, regenerate healthy soils, and provide fish and wildlife habitat. To see the League’s priorities for the 2018 Farm Bill, visit our website.
