The most popular post on our social media channels in October was this USA Today article about a wild elk spotted in the woodlands of South Carolina. Why the frenzy? It’s the first wild elk spotted in the state in over 200 years! Experts believe it’s a male bull that was likely ousted by a more dominate male in a herd of Rocky Mountain elk that were re-established in the Great Smokey Mountains. Residents are hoping the bull finds a female and will start a small herd in South Carolina too.
