The goal of the Protect Our Wetlands (POW) program is to educate Americans about wetland ecology, functions and values and to provide communities with the tools they need to conserve these valuable ecosystems. POW works through several projects to increase awareness of wetland issues and to train citizens in wetland conservation activities. These projects include: hands-on workshops, television programs and Webcasts, easy-to-read educational materials, and technical and networking assistance.
Whether you are interested in protecting wetlands in your community, incorporating wetland studies in your classroom curriculum, advocating for wetlands conservation, or simply participating in local wetland activities, the Protect Our Wetlands program can help you gain the information and skills you need to get involved.
