2010 Honor Roll Award: Kimberley Knox (Maryland)

These people and organizations achieved outstanding accomplishments in conservation, public education, and/or publicity efforts in keeping with the League’s goals.

Since she joined the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) in 2008 as community outreach manager, Kimberley Knox has led numerous volunteer activities to address environmental issues. Knox and her staff have educated and engaged partners including high school and college students, Scout troops, master gardeners, and members of the League’s Wildlife Achievement and Rockville Chapters. Working with these volunteers, Knox and her team improved water quality by removing invasives, planting native shrubs and trees, and improving riparian zones to eliminate erosion.
