Wes Libbey Northern Lakes Chapter

Established in 1925, the Wes Libbey Northern Lakes Chapter was renamed in 2006 to honor one of its founding members, Wes Libbey.  Wes died in 2010 at the age of 101 and, even in his 100th year, attended meetings and challenged us to carry on the stewardship of our natural resources.  He had a rich history of accomplishments, i.e. spearheading the establishment of the Boundary Water Canoe Area Wilderness and organizing the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association.  Our goal is to carry on that tradition and to pass it on to future generations.  In 2016, the chapter voted to have the name changed to "Wes Libbey Northern Lakes Chapter" to better reflect the boarder geographic area of their membership.
