Ready to start monitoring water in your neighborhood? Creek Critters is an app that provides an easy way to get started. No training is necessary. The app guides you through the process of finding and identifying bugs in your stream.
Perfect for families, public programs or as a solo activity, Creek Critters is easy and fun. Collect bugs by following simple step-by-step instructions and identify them with an interactive identification key.
Once you’ve identified the critters, the app automatically calculates a stream health score based on what you found. The score provides an assessment of your stream’s health. Plus, your results are added to the Clean Water Hub, our public database of water quality in America that researchers use to monitor water quality across the U.S.
